Definition:
The record of your credit history held by any of the three credit bureaus Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax. By law, a person can access their credit reports for free at least once a year, and financial institutions, employers, and the government can access them in order to verify your credit worthiness and good financial standing. Credit applications usually involve a check of your credit report, but caution should be taken since too many credit checks in a year actually works against your credit history.
